qgmview

About

QGMView is a "Qt Graphic Map Viewer" (originally written as a linux replacement for GoogleMV). This is a relatively simple utility that allows you to download and cache maps from Google Maps and browse them offline, saving your traffic. QGMView isn't tied to Google Maps, it can download/browse any other set of image that can be represented as a set of layers, where each layer consists of 256x256 images and is four times larger than previous layer. Caches created by qgmview can be viewed on other machines, even with no internet connection. Utility is written in C++ and uses Qt 4 as a GUI library. QGMView is supposed to be crossplatform - It must be "compileable" on platforms supported by Qt 4. GUI is available in English and Russian languages (language is selected automatically, depending on your locale).

Download

Currently project is only available via "downloads" page, only in source form. Source code should be "compileable" on platforms supported by Qt 4.3.0.

Compilation

To compile QGMView, you'll need Qt 4.3.0. It can be obtained at Trolltech's ftp. Then you should run "qmake ./qgmview.pro && make" inside the project's folder. Note that this will only work with qt4 qmake. More instruction can be found inside of the package in the INSTALL file
